Possibly the most famous BF109 Capture by the British during the Summer of 1940.
It Pilot Lt Franz Von Werra was the only German POW in WW2 to successfully escape capture from British and Commonwealth Forces.
He tried to escape a number of times in the UK before been transported to Canada, were during the railway journey to his new POW Camp, he jumped the train in Winter.
Von Werra managed to make his way to the USA which was neutral at the time.
He made his way back to Germany before been killed on operation some time later.
His story was made famous by the 1958 movie The One That Got Away staring Hardy Kruger.
